ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) motels would remain closed in different areas from December 1 due to heavy snowfall in Ayubia, Gilgit, Chitral, Khaplus, Skardu, Naran and Kaghan.

The PTDC Motels Manager Amjad Shah told the state-run news agency that PTDC had issued travel advisory to make tourists aware of the roads conditions including weather and also accommodation purposes from the start of the winter season.

Amjad Shah said PTDC did not want to indulge tourists in trouble during heavy snowfall, adding PTDC would share any further updates regarding motels reopening.

The manager said the current winter season was in full swing and thousands of tourists witnessed in hilly areas which was very good sign for the tourism industry in the Country. He said PTDC Tourists Information Centers were providing all updates to the tourists in various prominent resorts.

Moreover, he said before leaving for any trip, the tourists were requested to get necessary information regarding weather situation of northern areas.

The PTDC Motels Manager said Murree received 30 percent increase in tourists flow during the current year as thousands of people thronged Malka-e-Kohsar Murree with their families from across the Country.

Amjad Shah said due to heavy snowfall fall and the roads were closed due to glaciers fallen on roads, tourists who were there in hurdle to come out with their own risks.
