ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor met with General Afzal Rana Director General Frontier Works Organization (FWO) in Islamabad on Wednesday. 

The MD PTDC shared his views that through tourism we can portray its soft image so he has divided tourism into different categories and the top priority is the religious tourism.

Furthermore, MD PTDC shared his current plans that we are working on the opening of the TV channel specifically for the promotion of tourism further he also mentioned that we can also export the holy water of Sikh and the water of Hindus from Katas raj.

The managing director PTDC also said we have to develop a mind set about Hindus and Sikhs and we have to convince them that we are here to facilitate them for the purpose of tourism as they have their holy places here in Pakistan.

General Afzal Rana shared his opinion that tourism can only be promoted if we change the mind set of general public and provide them awareness about the modernization that is happening globally in the area of tourism.

He ensured his full cooperation for the purpose of tourism and said we can also provide helicopter and airplane for air safari on rent for tourism.

He mentioned that FWO has an enormous piece of land that can be utilized for tourism purposes. He added that we will facilitate PTDC in every possible way for this great purpose.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
