TourismMurree embraces thousands in hot summer Ramzan

MURREE, Pakistan: Tourists from across the country throng the oft-visited hill station for making their fasting comfortable and feed some memorable moments in their lives during the holy month of Ramzan.

People are generally supposed to stay at home in Ramzan but Queen of Hills’ charm and beauty has forced a large number of tourists from different parts of the country to visit and make their moments memorable.

A visitor, Sanam Khan from Lahore said, she was expecting to see low number of tourists due to Ramzan but “things here are totally different here”.

Sanam, who is here to spend a week with her family, also complained for high rates of the restaurants and hotels and lack of some proper sitting places at different points.

“Murree Murree hai” she remarked in Lahori accent but said more attention of the authorities concerned was required to overcome traffic congestions and improve some facilities.

The Mall Road is scenic hill stations’ most attractive destination for the tourists and all roads leading to it remain clogged at Iftar and Sehri timings as visitors from adjoining spots frequently come for shopping and other necessities.

“It was just impossible to have a room reserved in a hotel near Mall Road and I could manage to book one at a two kilometers distance” said Mohsin Ali a visitor from Bhawalnagar.

Talha Saeed from Gujranwala on his maiden visit was too excited with his family as his siblings were enjoying enthusiastically.

He urged the local administration to develop more recreational facilities and picnic spots for visitors.

A large number of families hailing from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh spend the whole Ramzan’s fasting month to avoid hot weathers in their native areas.

A visitor from Lahore Babur Salahuddin said.” There is a big difference in temperature of Lahore and Murree. We are having a great time here and will leave on 27th of Ramzan to celebrate Eid at home.”
