PESHAWAR, Pakistan: For promotion of tourism and facilitation of tourists, the department of Tourism Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved capacity building of Tourists’ Services Wing (TSW) besides implementation of KPK Hotel and Restaurant Act 2013 and Travel Agency and Tourist Guide Act 2013.

An official of KPK tourism department told media here Friday that KPK Tourism Department in a recent meeting held here approved various steps for promotion of tourism in the province and facilitation of local and foreign tourists.

He said that the capacity building of Tourist Services Wing would help implementation of Travel Agency and Tourist Guide Acts 2013 in letter and spirit while enabling the department to take action against unregistered hotels and restaurants.

He said that meeting approved increase in salaries of the tourism department and directed maintenance of registered and unregistered hotels and restaurants, rent a car services travel guides.

The meeting also approved appointment of a senior officer and filling of other vacant posts as part of capacity building of TSW, he informed.

The officer further added that TSW would maintain database of hotels, restaurants, rent a car and travel guides while ensuring provision of better residence, edible items and other facilities.
