ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the federal minister for Defense Khawaja Asif on Thursday discussed options to send ailing Pervez Musharraf abroad for medical treatment, hours after the former president was shifted to a hospital in Rawalpindi after he suffered heart problem.
The discussion took place when the federal minister for Defense called on the prime minister in Islamabad on Thursday.
Talking to media, Khawaja Asif said that the government has not made any decision to send the former president abroad. He said that the government is well aware of the matters pertaining to Pervez Musharraf.
The former president was shifted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in Rawalpindi after he suffered heart problem on his way to the special court to appear before it for the treason case on Thursday.
The special court had ordered Musharraf to appear in court and warned that warrants for his arrest would be issued in case of failure to comply with the court’s orders.
