ISLAMABAD: The International Literacy Day is being observed on 8 of September.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has expressed the government’s resolve to remove the darkness of illiteracy from the country.

He said the government has started a three-day drive to enroll five hundred thousand children in schools from Karachi to Peshawar.

The Prime Minister appealed to the countrymen to extend all possible help to such children who are not getting education in their enrollment in schools.

In connection with the International Literacy Day‚ seminars‚ conferences and discussions have been arranged by various organizations.

Speakers on the occasion will highlight the importance of education.
