Monitoring Desk: Farah Gogi’s name was trendy in Pakistan for almost two years and she became a household name for exceptionally high assets, corruption, her powerful role in running the Punjab government during the tenure of Usman Buzdar as Chief Minister Punjab and investigations into her assets confirmed that she was front-person of alleged corruption of the then First Lady Bushra Manika and her husband prime minister Imran Khan.

However, no action was taken against her and she continues to live a luxurious life somewhere outside Pakistan. Pakistan’s crime control agencies such as FIA could not manage her Red Warrant from Interpol to get her back to the country. Neither the PDM government nor the interim government and even not sitting PMLN government could get hold of her for reasons best known to the governments.  However, this case is still under the limelight because the verdict of 190 million sterling pounds (around 65 billion Pak rupees) case can be announced anytime.

On December 3, 2019, the UK’s National Crime Agency announced a £190 million out-of-court civil settlement with Malik Riaz, an enormously wealthy and controversial property tycoon from Pakistan. It was the largest settlement ever made by the NCA, which added that the outcome “did not represent a finding of guilt”. The settlement included 1 Hyde Park Place, a sumptuous £50 million property in London’s exclusive Knightsbridge which had previously belonged to the son of former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif. But what happened to the £190 million once it was returned to Pakistan had been shrouded in secrecy. This video will explain what is the case actually and how deeply Imran Khan, Farah Gogi, and her friend former First Lady Bushra Bibi are involved in this mega-corruption.

What do we know about the proceedings of the case?

PTI lawyers are criticizing the delay in the 190 million pound case judgment. However, they remain silent on the merits of the case. They miserably failed to argue in the trial court to defend their Mahatma & his noble wife

PTI Lawyers Arguments

Political victimization
No personal gains
No loss to the state
Al-Qadir is a trust
Bushra Bibi wasn’t a public official

No convincing arguments at all. Documents do not reveal victimization, arguments of no personal gains get rubbished by evidence in the shape of real estate acquired through Malik Riaz.

The assertion of no loss is also false. As 190 million was state money, not Malik Riaz’s. Who gave Imran the right to adjust it in Riaz’s other scams?

Al Qadir is a trust, but Bushra acts as a trustee, confirming ownership and strangely with no connection to education all

‼Bushra wasn’t a public official but was the wife of the PM and thus a major influence.

Case proceedings and conduct of Imran-Bushra lawyers

They were given repeated chances to cross-examine witnesses of the case. To the disarray of the accountability court’s judges, they never questioned witnesses.

Lawyers of Imran and Bushra often excused hearings on the pretext of sickness while themselves prolonging the case probably on purpose.

Significant to note that witnesses appeared in 23 hearings, but none of Imran-Bushra’s 12-member lawyers team cross-examined them.

Why did Imran-Bushra’s lawyers not perform well and continue to linger on the case?

190 million pounds of laundered money had to be transferred to the state of Pakistan instead landed in Malik Riaz’s lap.

Imran and Bushra clearly rewarded in the shape of the land in Jehlum (Al-Qadir Trust) and Islamabad.
