RAWALPINDI: At least 27 more militants were killed in Shawal area of North Waziristan tribal region in aerial strikes carried out by the security forces on Monday, taking the total death toll to 140 in two days of ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ operation.

In a statement the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that most of those killed in the North Waziristan military operation are Uzbeks.

The ISPR said that the security forces also destroyed six hideouts of militants in various areas of the tribal region today. It said that a communication center was also destroyed in the strikes.

Moreover, the ISPR said that the security has been further tightened throughout the country, keeping in view the ongoing operation.
