RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: As the military operation Zarb-e-Azb continues successfully, 13 more militants were killed in aerial strikes in Datta Khel area of the volatile North Waziristan tribal region on Wednesday.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan’s military media wing said that five hideouts of the militants were also destroyed in fresh airstrikes carried out by fighter jets.

Since June last year, Pakistan’s security forces have been continuing to target militant hideouts through airstrikes and ground operations in North Waziristan agency under the operation dubbed as ‘Zarb-e-Azb’.

Earlier on Tuesday, the US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Daniel Feldman in a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi lauded the operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants.

The US envoy said that Pakistani security forces were making great efforts for bringing peace and stability in South Asia.
