QUETTA: Unknown assailants opened fire at the Nawab Akbar Bugti Express in Bolan district of Balochistan on Monday evening, killing at least two passengers and injuring seven others including two women.
The spokesperson for Frontier Corps Khan Wasey said that the train was enroute to Quetta from Lahore when it was attacked near Mach in Bolan district. The assailants fled after launching the attack, he said.
The injured passengers were shifted from Bolan’s Mach area to Quetta in a helicopter for medical treatment.
The security personnel reached the site of the attack and cordoned off the area as investigation into the incident went underway.
