QUETTA, Pakistan: Two men belonging to Hazara community were shot killed as unknown armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire at their motor rickshaw in Sariab road area in Quetta on Monday.

The police said that that two persons belonged to Hazara community riding a motorcycle rickshaw were on their way in Sariab road area.

“Unknown armed men riding a bike sprayed volley of bullets on the rickshaw,” the police said, adding that as a result of firing, the two Hazara persons suffered gunshot wounds which caused their instant death. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.

The police rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies to hospital. According to doctors, the victims received multiple bullet wounds which caused their instant death.

The dead were identified as Muhammad Nabi and Ghulam Nabi. Both were residents of Quetta’s Hazara Town. Further probe was underway.

The law enforcement personnel cordoned off the entire area to trace the suspects. There was no immediate claim for the responsibility of the killing as the officials said that they could not comment who might be behind the murder. Further probe was underway.

The Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri strongly condemned the firing on Saryab Road, and expressed grief on loss of precious lives. The Chief Minister ordered for arrest of responsible of incident.
