PESHAWAR: A tribal Jirga of Bar Qambar Khel Tribe of Bara Tehsil Khyber Agency in Peshawar on Sunday decided to extend unconditional support to the government for peace in the area.

Former Federal Minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi presided the Jirga.

The Jirga decided that if someone was found for any contact with militants‚ he will be fined 6 million rupees and expelled from the tribe.

The Jirga set up a 15-member committee for negotiations with the government for peace in the area.

Addressing the Jirga‚ Hameedullah Jan Afridi said that the displaced people of Tirah Valley will soon return to their homes.
