Three security personnel killed in Khuzdar blast

QUETTA: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on the roadside killed at least three security personnel and injured four others when it hit a convoy of security forces near Jhao area in Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Friday.

According to a Frontier Corps’ spokesperson, the security convoy was traveling from Wadh area to Bela when the incident took place, adding that following the blast, militants who had taken positions in nearby mountains opened fire on the security personnel.

The spokesman said that the security forces resorted to retaliatory gunfire and the exchange of fire continued till the filing of this report.
