ISLAMABAD: In a bid to launch suicide bombing attack on former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, two teams of suicide bombers have reportedly been deployed, one each at Karachi and Rawalpindi, sources said.

The sources said first attempt may be carried out at Karachi and in case of failure second attempt will be made at Rawalpindi. No further details are available.

In order to tackle the situation, security institutions have exercised extreme vigilance and heightened security measures at all levels.

On the other hand, police authorities have taken into custody two sacks filled with explosives material and detonator from Gulshan-e -Shumal area on Adiala road in Rawalpindi.

The sources said that police was informed that two suspects were roaming in the area. On arrival of police, they left the sacks and managed to flee.

The team of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has been called and they have initiated scanning the location.
