BHARAKAHU: A suicide bomber made an attempt to explode a Shia mosque in Bharakahu area of Islamabad on Friday, however security guards killed the attacker, making the suicide attack foiled when Muslims across the country are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

According to reports, a suicide bomber tried to attack Ali Ibn-e-Talib masjid belonging to Shia community on Kiyani road in Bharakahu when people were offering Jumma prayer.

However, taking timely action, a security guard of the mosque shot dead the bomber whose suicide jacket fortunately could not explode.

During the firing between the suicide bomber and security guards, one security guard was killed while four other persons were injured who were shifted to Poly Clinic Hospital Islamabad.

Police arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area and seized the bomber’s body.
