PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The apparently 21-year-old militant was involved in the Suicide blast which struck a Police Station in Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa early Tuesday, police said.

Talking to media, the District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu Fazal Hamid told that two police personnel were injured in the blast.

The DPO said that a suicide bomber, who appeared to be 21 years old, blew up his car packed with 20 kilograms of explosives in front of the gate of Mandan Police Station in Bannu.

Resultantly, two policemen who were deputed for security on the gate sustained injuries. Immediately, they were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital in Bannu.

The attacker was also killed in the blast.

Meanwhile, the security personnel had begun search operation in the area. No group had yet admitted to be behind the Bannu blast.

Last week, a vehicle of Frontier Corps (FC) personnel was targeted in a roadside bomb blast in Naguman area of Peshawar which left nine persons including three security personnel and six civilians martyred.
