BANNU: At least three persons were killed while 18 others were injured in a suicide blast that targeted a police mobile van near Saddar police station in Bannu on Tuesday, subsequent firing was also heard soon after the explosion, Dispatch News reported.

The sources said that the blast went off in the Bannu town, approximately 190 kilometers to the south of Peshawar, prompting security forces to throng to the spot and cordon off the area.

All victims were shifted to the District Headquarters hospital Bannu.

According to initial reports, intense firing was heard soon after an explosion near Saddar police station of the town where check posts and police stations are often been attacked by militant groups.
