QUETTA: At least one person was killed and 22 others including eight children injured in a remote-controlled blast that occurred near Mitha Chowk in Pashtunabad area of Quetta on Thursday evening, police and rescue sources said.
The sources said that the blast took place outside an ice cream shop. The explosion also caused damage to cars and buildings in the area.
The police and rescue teams reached the spot and cordoned off the area, while the injured persons were shifted to civil hospital Quetta for treatment.
An official of the bomb disposal squad said that more than two kilogram of explosive materials were used in the blast.
Meanwhile, a blast was also reported in Peerano Kali area on Kohat Road in Peshawar that left three persons injured.
