School van attacked in Charsadda; driver killed, three students injured

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Unknown gunmen opened fire on a school van in Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday morning that left the van driver killed and three students injured.

The police said that the incident took place in Manikhel area of Charsadda’s Sar Dheri where a school van reportedly carrying 15 children came under attack.

The injured students were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda.

A case in relation to the incident was registered at the Sar Dheri police station.

The police further said that it was not a militant attack and the attackers had a personal dispute with the van driver.

Earlier on February 3, unknown miscreants threw a grenade on a private school in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block area of Karachi; however, luckily no human loss took place as the school had not been opened at the time of attack.

Following the Peshawar army public school deadly terror attack on December 16 last year that left over 130 innocent children dead, the security for school children has become a major concern in many parts of the country.
