ISLAMABAD: A retired army brigadier was kidnapped by masked militants when he left for office on Thursday morning, while his driver was killed in the incident, Dispatch News Desk (DND) repoted on 11 October, 2012.
Brigadier (retd) Tahir Masood until recently worked as head of the ISI’s media wing and retired from service this week.
The sources said three vehicles intercepted his car (HW-732-ICT) from three sides as he left his residence (House-17, Sreet-12, DHA, Phase-II, Islamabad) for office in the morning. Masked men, said to be four in number, alighted from one of the vehicles and one of them rushed to the driver, Ahmad Hassan, and spayed him with bullets killing him on the spot while others opened the rear door of the car and pulled Brig Masood out of the car and pushed him into their vehicle and sped away towards Rawalpindi.
