HYDERABAD: At least one person was killed while two others injured in a series of low intensity blasts which struck Hyderabad and Dadu cities of Sindh province on Tuesday evening.

The reports said that three cracker blasts took place at Liberty Chowk, Hyder Chowk and Qasimabad in Hyderabad, in which one person was killed and two others, including a policeman, suffered injuries.

SP Hyderabad Fida Hussain said that blasts were aimed at spreading fear and panic in the city. There was no suicide attack in the city, he said.

In addition, six crackers were reported in Dadu.

Police said that the blasts were carried out at Bus Station, Chandni Chowk, Shamsabad, Press Club, Cinema Chowk and Malah Chowk. However, there were no immediate reports of any casualties in the explosions.

Tension and fear gripped the city.
