QUETTA, Pakistan: Unknown armed men gunned down the Principal of Law College Quetta Barrister Amanullah Khan Achakzai in Killi Tarkha, a suburb of Quetta city when he was on way from home to college on Wednesday.

The police said that unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire at the vehicle of the Principal when he was passing through Killi Tarkha area to reach his college.

“As a result the Principal suffered gunshots,” the police said, adding that the assailants managed to escape from the scene.

The injured principal was rushed to hospital where he died after being struck by eight bullets received to different parts of his body, the police said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility and officials said they would not comment on who may be behind the attack.

A large number of lawyers reached hospital and condemned the killing of Barrister Achakzai.

The Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri strongly flayed the murder of the Principal and directed the authorities to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits involved in this heinous crime.
