QUETTA, Pakistan: Unknown gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire at a police check post in Khuzdar district of Balochistan on Saturday that left a policeman dead and two others injured.
The attack took place in the Zero Point area of the Khuzdar district on Saturday morning, according to a police official Muhammad Ibrahim.
The police and frontier crops personnel reached the site and cordoned off the area while the injured police personnel were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for medical treatment.
The police official said that the attackers managed to escape from the scene successfully after the incident.
Meanwhile, an investigation into the incident went underway.
IED blast targets police vehicle in Quetta
An improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Hazar Ganji area of Quetta, targeting a police vehicle.
The Superintendent of Police Sariab Imran Qureshi said that the militants had planted the IED alongside the road in the area.
However, no casualty took place in the blast as well as the vehicle also remained undamaged, he added.
Female health worker injured in Peshawar
On the other hand, unknown gunmen opened fire on a female health worker in Sherojangi area near Charsadda road in Peshawar on Saturday, leaving her injured.
The injured health worker was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar for medical treatment.
