PESHAWAR: At least ten people were killed while 31 others were wounded in a suicide blast that targeted a security check post of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) in central Peshawar city on Friday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
A suicide bomber detonated his explosives near a convoy of FC officials close to a security check post on the Fakhr-i-Alam Road in Peshawar’s Saddar area, sources said.
The sources said the bomber targeted a vehicle of the Frontier Constabulary and commandant Abdul Majeed Marwat. However he luckily managed to escape the attack.
According to SP Cantonment Mohammad Faisal, ten people were dead including two women. He said explosion was the work of a suicide bomber who came on a motorbike. Eight to 10 kilograms of explosive was used in the blast, he said.
The injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar. Police and rescue teams rushed to the blast site soon after the blast.
