Orakzai Agency blasts leave five dead

KALAYA: Twin blasts ripped through a local market in Orakzai Agency on Thursday killing at least 5 persons while injuring 20 others, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 11 October, 2012.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Orakzai Agency chapter, claimed responsibility for the blasts.

According to sources, the first blast in Orakzai occurred at 10am when explosives strapped to a donkey exploded near a passenger vehicle in the bazaar in Hasanzai, killing three persons and injuring eight others.

The second explosive device, the sources said, was detonated when locals rushed to the area for rescue work after the first blast. They said two persons were killed and 12 others sustained injuries in the second blast.
