PESHAWAR: At least one security official was killed and three others were injured when two remote-controlled bombs exploded one after another in Janikhel area of northwestern district of Bannu on Friday.

The injured were subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, militants also blew up a girls’ primary school in Bannu’s Maryan area by planting explosives. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.

In yet another incident, miscreants kidnapped a doctor named Saifurrehman from Khyber tribal region’s Bara area.

He was kidnapped while he was on his way to the DarandHospital in Akakhel where he was posted for duty.
