PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Unidentified assailants killed nine Khasadars (levy) personnel in two separate incidents in Mohmand Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), officials in political administration told APP on Thursday.
The terror incident occurred at Karpa Latri camp area of tehsil Pandyali in Lower Mohmand Agency on Gandap Road when unidentified terrorists opened indiscriminate firing on security picket, killing seven Khasadars on the spot.
According to political administration, the victims were stationed at the security picket when militants equipped with automatic weapons ambushed them about 12:15 am last night.The martyred victims identified were Murad Khan, Multanay, Naseer Khan, Farhad Khan, Abne Amin, Zakir Khan and Anwar Khan.
In yet another assault, two Khasadar personnel were martyred when unidentified militants opened fire on them at Darwaz area of tehsil Yakagund of Mohmand Agency.
Taj Wali and Bilal Khan were performing security duty at a solar tubewell in the area when militants attacked them with automatic weapons about 9:30 pm last night.Both of the Khasadars were martyred on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to district headquarters hospital Galanai in Mohmand Agency.The killers escaped from the scenes.
The Khasadar Force and officials of political administration rushed to the spot and started investigation.
