MULTAN, Pakistan: The authorities carried out the execution of another death raw prisoner at the Central Jail in Multan early on Thursday.
The convict named as Maqbool Hussain was awarded the death penalty by a sessions court in Multan after the accusation against him of killing six people in 1996 were proved.
Maqbool Hussain filed mercy petitions initially to higher courts and later to President Mamnoon Hussain. However, his all appeals were rejected.
His dead body was handed over to his family members after the execution.
Hussain’s hanging brings the number of executions held across the country to 213 since December last year when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif removed a six-year moratorium on death penalties.
