LAKKI MARWAT: At least 13 security personnel including 4 constabulary and 9 army soldiers were martyred in a pre-dawn attack by the militants on Lakki Marwat army camp, while 12 terrorists were also killed in retaliation by the troops, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Saturday. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to army officials, at least 40 militants with automatic guns and heavy ammunition including rockets and hand grenades assaulted the army camp located in Irrigation Colony of Tehsil Saraye Naurang in Pakistan’s northwestern district of Lakki Marwat at 3:45am.

Meanwhile, ten civilians were also reportedly killed during the clashes when terrorists entered into house of a civilian and killed his 10 family members including three men, three women and three children.

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan claimed responsibility for the attack. He said four suicide bombers were involved in the attack and three of them were killed while the fourth was still resisting.

Ahsan said the attack was in retaliation for the recent deaths of two Taliban commanders in US drone strikes. He accused the Pakistani army of helping with the attacks.
