PESHAWAR, Pakistan: A suicide bomber blew himself up outside the Assistant Political Agent Office in Jamrud area of Khyber agency on Tuesday morning, killing at least three people including one Khasadar Force personnel.
The security sources said that the blast also left more than 50 people including 15 Khasadars injured who were immediately taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex and Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar.
The sources at the hospitals told that six of the injured people were in critical condition.
The sources said that the suicide bomber tried to enter the Assistant Political Agent Office at Jamrud but he could not succeed in his mission as high security measures were in place at the entrance of the office.
The attacker detonated his explosives at the entrance which caused deaths of at least three people including two civilians and one Khasadar force personnel.
The security forces also found another bomb on the spot which was defused by the bomb disposal squad.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast. However, it is likely that the banned insurgent group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was involved in the attack.
