IED blast leaves two security personnel dead in Tirah valley

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An improvised explosive device (IED) went off at a security check post in Tirah valley of the Khyber tribal region on Wednesday that left at least two security personnel martyred.

The incident took place near Narai Baba area of Tirah valley where a bomb planted on the roadside exploded.

Subsequently, two security forces personnel lost their lives.

Security forces take control of strategic mountainous areas in Tirah valley

On the hand, the security forces took control of strategic mountainous areas in Tirah valley of Khyber agency where military forces are engaged in Khyber-One and Khyber-Two operations against militants.

The sources said that the security forces are making advance to clear the whole area.

The Khyber-One operation by the security forces was launched in October last year in Bara and Tirah valley while the Khyber-Two operation against Taliban and other terrorist groups hiding in different parts of the valley began in March 2015.
