Four policemen including sub inspector shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA, Pakistan: Unknown gunmen shot dead four police men including a Sub Inspector in Pashtunabad area of Quetta on Saturday morning, in another attack of this kind targeting security officials.

The police sources said that a police mobile van was on a routine patrol but unidentified miscreants opened fire on it. Resultantly, four police personnel including a Sub Inspector lost their lives.

The dead bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital Quetta for postmortem.

No person or group immediately claimed the responsibility for being involved in the attack on police van.

In their separate statements, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and expressed condolences with the bereaved families.

They said that such incidents could not weaken government’s resolve to eliminate terrorism and extremism from the country.

The prime minister also directed the concerned authorities to apprehend the culprits at the earliest and bring them to the book.
