Four militants killed in encounter with police in Swabi

SWABI: The security forces killed four suspected militants and recovered a huge cache of arms from them in an encounter at Khanpur area in the Swabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday.

Upon receiving a tip off about the presence of militants in the Shakoli primary school in Khanpur area, police and security personnel conducted a raid there. Subsequently, a clash erupted between the security personnel and militants which lasted for over an hour, Station House Officer (SHO) of Parmoli police station Haji Khan said.

The SHO said that that a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered during the raid. He also claimed that nearly 50 suspects had been arrested and the operation was still in progress.
