Former SP Jail in Hyderabad shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI, Pakistan: Unknown assailants shot dead a former Superintendent Central Jail Hyderabad Ejaz Haider  and injured his wife in Karachi on Friday.

The sources said that the police officer was killed when unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles opened fire on his car near Pehlwan Goth in Gulistan-e-Johar area of Karachi.

The SP Ejaz Haider died on the spot while his wife sustained critical injuries and was shifted to nearby hospital Dar us Sehat.

Prime Minister Nawaz strongly condemned the murder of SP Ejaz Haider in the firing incident. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and directed law enforcement agencies to beef up security in the provincial capital.

The prime minister said that the ongoing operation in Karachi against militants and criminals would continue with full force till their complete elimination. He said that the perpetrators of this heinous crime should be arrested at the earliest and brought to justice.
