Female suicide bomber killed, other injured outside Imambargah in Karachi

KARACHI: A blast occurred outside an Imambargah at Khalid Bin Waleed Road in Karachi on Wednesday, killing a woman and critically injuring another.

Police said that two women equipped with explosives tried to enter an Imambargah at Karachi’s Khalid bin Waleed Road on Wednesday morning.

The security guards deputed at the Imambargah tried to restrict the women from entering the vicinity during which the explosives carried by one of the women went off with a blast, killing one woman and injuring the other.

The gunshots reportedly followed the blast.

The authorities took into custody the husband of the female suicide bomber who was killed during the blast. The body and the injured woman were shifted to a hospital where sources said that both the women were related to each other.

Meanwhile, police cordoned off the area and started investigation into the incident.
