QUETTA: At least eight people were killed and over 18 others injured in a blast which ripped through a check post of Frontier Constabulary (FC) on the outskirts of Quetta on Thursday morning.

Officials said miscreants set off an explosion near a security check post located on Southern Bypass near Quetta city.

Eight people, five FC soldiers among them, were killed while 18 others sustained injuries in the blast.

The dead and injured were shifted to Bolan Medical Complex, five of the wounded were said to be critical.

Nature of the blast was not known as bomb disposal squad was examining the site.
