QUETTA: Deputy Election Commissioner of Quetta was killed in the Quetta city of restive Balochistan province on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported. This is first attack to any member of Election Commission of Pakistan.

Ziaullah Qasmi, a key Election Commission officer, was driving back home from his office when unknown gunmen came on bikes and opened fire on his vehicle in Quetta’s restive Satellite Town near Chandni Chowk, police said.

The sources said Ziaullah was moving without his guards when miscreants targeted him. He was first critically wounded and later succumbed to his injuries.
