QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch escaped unhurt early on Monday morning from a rocket attack on his convoy in the earthquake-stricken Awaran district of the province.

The reports said that the chief minister accompanied by several provincial secretaries was on his way to the camp office in Awaran district, which was set up to carry out relief work in the quake-hit region, meanwhile unknown militants fired a rocket which landed at a distance from the convoy. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

A heavy contingent of security personnel reached the site of attack and cordoned off the area as security was tightened in the area during the chief minister’s visit.
