BAGHDAD: At least nine people were killed while 27 others sustained injuries in two separate car bomb attacks in central Iraq on Tuesday, Police officials said.

A car bomb went off near a car repair shops in Aziziyah town, 55 kilometers (35 miles) southeast of Baghdad, leaving at least seven people dead and 20 others wounded, Police officials said.

Earlier in the day, a car bomb exploded targeting an army patrol north of Baghdad, killing two soldiers and wounding seven people, five of them were civilians. Medics in nearby hospitals confirmed the death toll.

The bombings came a day after a string of deadly attacks across Iraq killed 55 people.
