DAMASCUS: At least 60 persons were killed and dozens others injured when a car bomb exploded in Rankus, a town 30 kilometers north of the Syrian capital Damascus, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The explosion took place near a mosque soon after Friday prayers.
