KARACHI: At least five people were killed while 14 others were injured in a powerful blast that went off in a car in Karachi’s Nusrat Bhutto Colony on Thursday night, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
The blast occurred near an election office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), DIG Zafar Abbas Bukhari said. The explosion damaged nearby buildings and vehicles.
According to sources, the explosive-laden car had a government number plate.
The injured were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital. Police and Rangers cordoned off the area, while the Bomb Disposal Squad swept the scene of the blast.
