KARACHI: Funeral prayer for the eternal peace of an advocate of Sindh High Court (SHC) and his two children who were shot down yesterday, was offered yesterday; bodies of the deceased will be dispatched to their ancestral area today.

According to details, the SHC’s senior lawyer and his two teenage sons were killed in an early morning attack in Karachi as violence claimed four other lives elsewhere in the city since midnight.

Advocate Kausar Saqlain Abbas left home in his car to drop his two sons to their school when armed attackers ambushed his vehicle on Maripur Road at around 8:30.

The attackers fired multiple shots on the vehicle and managed to flee, killing the two kids – 14-year-old Muhammad Aon Abbas and 12-year-old Muhammad Owais Abbas – on the spot while Abbas was critically injured.

The lawyer was critically injured receiving several bullets in his head and chest. Police and rescue teams shifted him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead upon his arrival at the hospital.

The elder deceased brother was a student of class nine and younger Abbas in class seven. Nighat Fatima, the principal of Sindh Madrasatul Islam said the two were intelligent students. Meantime, their classmates said they cannot forget them.

The funeral prayer was offered at MA Jinnah. Later on, the bodies were shifted to Shah Najaf Imambargah. They will be dispatched to their ancestral area in Chakwal for burial.
