Blast at Sibbi Railway station, 16 killed

SIBBI: At least 16 persons were killed and 40 others injured when an explosion occurred in a passenger train at the Railway station in Sibbi district of Balochistan on Tuesday, media reported.

The reports said that the blast took place inside a bogie of Jaffar Express which was standing at the Sibbi Railway station while it was going to Rawalpindi from Quetta. Three bogies were damaged in the blast.

A police official Muhammad Tahir said that militants targeted the passenger train through an improvised explosive device (IED) at the Sibbi Railway station.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Sibbi.
