PESHAWAR: Attacks on election offices and candidates continued across the country on Sunday.
At least three people were killed and eight injured in an explosion at the office of an independent candidate for NA-46 (Khyber Agency) in Peshawar. According to police, the explosion took place at the office of independent candidate Nasir Khan. Khan was unhurt in the attack, police said.
Over in Kohat, five people were killed and 21 others wounded in an explosion at an election office located at Kacha Pucca on the Orakzai Agency-Kohat border. Police said the explosion occurred at the joint-office of an independent election candidate for NA-39, Syed Noor Akbar from Orakzai Agency and ANP candidate for Kohat NA-14, Khurshid Begum. Both the candidates remained safe in the explosion.
Two people were killed in a blast during the election rally of ANP candidate Ameer Rehman in Swabi. Five people were also injured in the blast which was triggered by a remote controlled device. In Quetta, a child was killed in a blast outside a corner meeting being held on Sairab road.
