KOHAT: At least four security men were injured when armed men attacked a local district court in Kohat town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province on Monday.

Sources said eight to ten militants attacked the Kohat district court with hand grenades and heavy arms. Exchange of fire took place between the attackers and security forces within the court premises as four security men were reported injured.

According to preliminary reports, troops surrounded the area and evacuated people from the court and offices.

Officials said a suspected suicide bomber was killed in retaliatory fire by the troops who sealed entry and exit points of the area.

The attack came when APC was being held in Islamabad to devise strategy against terrorism, including possibilities of holding dialogue with Taliban militants or else a full-fledged military operation against them.
