Abducted PTCL employees recovered from Balochistan’s Zhob district

QUETTA, Pakistan: The Frontier Corps (FC) personnel conducted a search operation in Zhob district of southwestern Balochistan province on Wednesday and recovered four abducted Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) employees.

Last week, the PTCL employees were kidnapped by unknown armed men from the Gawal area of Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah district while they were on routine work.

Later, a search operation was launched for the recovery of the PTCL employees.

The security forces had said that recent kidnappings in Zhob and Qila Saifullah might be the reaction of operations launched in different parts of the province by the security forces against militants in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on a army public school in Peshawar.

In a separate incident, an exchange of fire took place between the FC personnel and the militants in Panjgur district of Balochistan.

Subsequently, three militants were killed. However, one FC soldier was also martyred and another injured in the encounter.

Meanwhile, the security forces arrested 21 suspects from various areas of the province.
