SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police has killed eight terrorists and recovered weapons, suicide jackets, explosives from their possession during a late night operation in Sheikhupura.

According to CTD police sources, they received information that some terrorists were coming to Sheikhupura from the direction of Nankana Sahib and they were encountered near Bhikkhi police station. As a result, eight terrorists were killed while six others managed to escape.

The bodies of those killed in the operation were sent to DHQ hospital Sheikhupura for identification, the sources said.

The police teams recovered four suicide jackets, 11 kalashnikovs and pistols, about 10 kilograms of explosive material, as well as site plans of sensitive places from their possession.

Meanwhile, DPO Sheikhupura Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan Virk cordoned off the area and intense search operation was ordered for the arrest of remaining terrorists.
