8 killed, 22 injured in Bajaur bomb blast

KHAR: Eight persons, including a minor girl, were killed while 22 others were injured when a bomb planted in a car parked at a market went off in Pashat town of Salarzai Tehsil of Bajaur Agency, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 26 July, 2012.

The deafening explosion took place at around 9:00am in the busy bazaar of Pashat, located some 30 kilometres to the northeast of Khar town, the headquarters of Bajaur, sources told Dispatch News Desk (DND).

Distancing itself from the Bajaur bomb blast, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Ihsanullah Ihsan told media that “We never target public places. We know our targets very well and will continue to target them.” He alleged that carrying out blasts in public places was the work of intelligence agencies and were meant to defame the Pakistani Taliban.
