In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that 15 militants including two suicide bombers were killed in air strikes in Khyber agency.

The ISPR said that the air strikes were carried out in Rajgal area close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

It further said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb is continuing with full force against terrorists.

Meanwhile, air strikes targeted six militant hideouts in various parts of North Waziristan on Monday which resultantly caused deaths of at least 24 militants.

The air strikes took place in the Zoi Nari, Lataka, Mizer Madakhel and Shawal areas of North Waziristan.

“Jet air shelling destroyed six militant hideouts and killed 24 militants hiding in this area,” an unnamed intelligence official was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Earlier on Sunday, Pakistani military fighter jets pounded militant hideouts in Shawal area of North Waziristan agency and killed 40 militants.

“In precise aerial strikes, 40 terrorists were killed this afternoon,” the ISPR said in the statement, adding that several others also sustained injuries.

The latest air strikes in restive tribal region occurred after a suicide blast killed the Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada among 17 others in Punjab’s Attock district. However, it is not clear that the strikes were in retaliation for Sunday’s suicide attack.
