ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) have arrested 2,533 terrorists during last two years.

The major arrests during the period were made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Sindh provinces where the number of such arrests was 1068 and 897 terrorists respectively.

The province-wise updates issued by Ministry of Interior have revealed that in Balochistan 193 terrorists were arrested during last two years, in Punjab 55 terrorists arrested, in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 42 terrorists arrested, the number of arrested terrorists was 206 in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and in Gilgit-Baltistan 72 terrorists were arrested terrorists while no arrest was made in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Similarly, during the period mentioned above 726 terrorists were acquitted and major acquittal was made in KPK where this number was 635 terrorists.

In Punjab, 07 terrorists were acquitted, Balochistan 43 acquitted, Gilgit-Baltistan 41 acquitted while no acquittal was made in Sindh, ICT, FATA and Azad Jammu & Kashmir during the period.
